Donations are a vital source of income which allows At Home to continue to develop the services which we currently offer and, crucially, to plan for the expansion of the charity. We need to raise funds for our new projects which offer educational activities with specialist IT support for our existing clients and our future plans to include children, families, the elderly and those with dementia.
To help At Home to develop our services for people with learning disabilities you could support us through taking part in some of our fundraising activities, make a donation directly to us or via the online methods or set up a regular standing order by downloading the form and returning it to our Head Office.
Three Peaks Challenge 2012
Interested in taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge this year on behalf of At Home in the Community?
We anticipate that the event will take place on Saturday and Sunday 23/24 June 2012 when we need to have enrolled up to 12 committed walkers (a minimum of eight) and four drivers.
The challenge is to complete the three peaks, Ben Nevis (4,409ft) in Scotland, Scafell Pike (3,209ft) in England and Snowdon (3,560ft) in Wales in 24 hours. It therefore follows that everyone taking part will need to display a reasonable level of fitness otherwise the challenge may fail if one participant is significantly slower than the others.
To take part in the Three Peaks Challenge we require an entry fee of £100 to demonstrate commitment and cover the costs of petrol etc. In order to raise as much as we can for the charity we would like participants to aim for a target of £1,000 each in sponsorship if possible.
Anyone interested in taking part in the challenge for the charity should forward contact details to Adele Southern at At Home in the Community head office, Freeman House, 410 – 420 West Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 2ER, or email adelesouthern@athome.uk.net. She will keep a list of interested parties and when we have enough participants will contact you for your entry fee and arrange sponsor forms etc.
Great North Run 2012
Want to take part in the world’s most popular half marathon for a great cause?
At Home in the Community has earmarked places in this year’s Great North Run and is seeking volunteers to run it to help raise funds for adults with learning disabilities.
To take part in the run for us we require an entry fee of £50 to help cover the entry payments and administration costs which we’re charged by the organisers (£68 per entry). We just ask that you raise as much sponsorship as you possibly can for At Home…
If you would like to book your place in the run on Sunday 16 September 2012 please send your entry fee and contact details, including email address, to Adele Southern at At Home in the Community head office, Freeman House, 410 – 420 West Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 2ER. Cheques should be made payable to At Home in the Community. We will forward your entry instructions from the Great North Run organisers and At Home sponsorship forms.
We do hope you are able to join us in this year’s event and to help raise funds for At Home in the Community.
